Jr. High Summer
The Jr High Summer Program began in 2014 out of a recognition that students in 6th, 7th, and 8th grades did not have many local options to gain new experiences during the summer. The goal of the program is to encourage these students to expand their horizons and explore new areas of interest. This has been accomplished primarily by providing some financial support to help cover the costs of summer camp programs. In the past students have experienced programs such as tech camps, sailing camps, horseback riding camp, outdoor adventure, sports camps, engineering camps, and circus camps.
This program is for students who are enrolled in the 6th, 7th, or 8th grade at the time of application. Camps are not to include a religious affiliation.
Guidelines...
-
Make sure your parents or guardians support your plan to go to a summer camp program. Discuss with your parents or guardian the details of the program you are considering. Parents are responsible for travel to and from camp. They will need to sign the application giving permission to attend the camp.
-
Apply to the program you have chosen. Many programs begin accepting applications as early as January of the year you plan to attend. Make sure you are clear about their application deadlines. Applying to camp before camp deadline is the student's responsibility.
-
Fill out the Jr High Summer application. It includes questions about the program, why you chose it, and what you hope to learn. Your parents or guardian need to review the application, then sign and date.
